Can you switch from Alpha one Gen 2 to Bravo 3?

Just something I'm pondering in my brain. Picked up an 01 Maxum 2400SCR this year. Has a 5.0 with an Alpha one Gen 2 on it. There's a couple of guys near me with the same boat, different years and 5.7's (I think), and they have the Bravo 3. Love my boat, but just doesn't seem to have the ummph...

Where to put Lewmar Windless Selenoid

Yeah, I think that is going to be the best thing for me to do. What you have is exactly what I want for a setup. I watched a setup video for it, and the guy had one like yours. I'm thinking the one they gave is more for boats that have a breaker area on their boat. Mine is only 24' so there...

Where to put Lewmar Windless Selenoid

I am installing a v700 in my boat. Got everything installed and am buttoning up the wiring. It has a 35a breaker that I need to install near the battery per the manual which is in my engine compartment. Where I am having an issue is the wire connections are on the back of the breaker, so I...

    Washer for 2HP Johnson Mount

Buddy of mine gave me a small 2hp Johnson outboard for my dingy. The little mounting feet that go on the mount bolts are missing. Anyone know what they are called and where can I get them? I tried mounting without and the little ball end is digging into the plastic mounting plate.

    Adding a 12v DC-AC Inverter

Hey there, Boat is a 2001 Maxum 2400SCR. Friend of mine has been telling me to add in an inverter to my boat. I have shore power when at the docks, but nothing when on the water. Genny is not an option. Not looking to power anything crazy. Maybe a small tv, coffee pot, maybe a blender. Trying...

Question on exposed hole after taking screw out

Thanks for all the replies. Unfortunately as Mr. 88 mentioned, the boat is in the water and will be for the remainder of the summer/fall. So sounds like I'm kinda screwed here. Alumarine, yes the transducer is mounted to a bracket. Held in by bolts on either side so I can take it off if...

Question on exposed hole after taking screw out

I have a new Raymarine Axium unit that I installed with a new Transducer. Everything works great when I am at no wake speed. But as soon as I hit the gas, I lose my depth reading. I contacted Raymarine and they advised that I need to drop the transducer down a little. I have scuba gear, so no...

    Question on Anchor pulpit

Got an anchor with a shaft that was about 3 inches shorter. (Luckily had one in the garage). Works PERFECTLY! Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

    Hot water heater hose question

There is a little valve to turn on and off in that last side. Why would I want to bypass the tank to winterize? Wouldn't I want coolant in there as well? I think the valve does just that....instead of going through the tank it looks it just goes across the white hose. But again, not sure why I...

    Hot water heater hose question

So I am replacing my current hot water heater. It was leaking and come to find out the entire bottom of it rotted out. I have the new one and just need to install. It is a 6 gallon heater. The old heater had this hose connecting to itself?? Each fitting is a T...one hose goes out presumably to...

    Dripping engine block fitting

Already have a new set coming. Ordering them is actually what tipped me off that it was missing an o-ring when i saw the pic of them. I'll just toss em in my tool box for now and change them out in the fall/spring.

    Electronics die when cranking engine

When I checked each battery and got the 12.5v, the switch was actually still on 1 only. I'm going to get a new connector for the battery, but it is on battery 2. Battery one looks ok. I'm also going to take the switch itself apart and make sure there is no corrosion there. Good idea on...

    Electronics die when cranking engine

So I put the switch on BOTH to start this time. Which in theory is the new Hybrid deep cycle rated at 650cca and the "cranking" battery which is 800cca. GPS still shut down. I was connected up to shore power before starting with charger on so batteries are fully charged. And checked prior and...

    Dripping engine block fitting

Cool. I'm gonna try popping an o-ring on the plastic fitting and see if that helps. As long as I know 80 gallons of sea water is not gonna fly in, I'll just take whole fitting to the hardware store if I gotta replace the whole thing..

    Dripping engine block fitting

Crap..sorry, thought it was in my signature. It's a 2001 5.0 Mercruiser. Just bought the boat so don't know about the rest of rust. I did find that the plastic blue plug doesn't have an o-ring, so wonder if that's it. Gonna try and hunt down an o-ring and try that.

    Dripping engine block fitting

Found a drip in my bilge today. It's coming from a drain on block. Looks like it is leaking at where the fitting connects to the block itself. Would like to take fitting out and replace if I can or at least put some sealant around the threads or something. My concern is...if I take this fitting...

    Electronics die when cranking engine

This seems to be a common issue and I found a bunch of things online about it, but want to make sure I am doing the right things here and am not the cause. Boat is new to me so learning all sorts of stuff lol. I have a dual battery system. Originally was having issues with battery number 1 dying...
