    Another Upstate NY Boating Accident...

I was talking to my parents last night and they told me about this accident. Leaving the scene of boating accidents seems to be popular up there:(. They were docked at the Waterfront, and saw the helo circling. Poor fellow, 85yo minding his own business fishing, run over and left for dead in...

Any Ford techs about? F350 fuel trouble...

My 1993 5.7L 4wd F350 has some kind of fuel trouble. It has dual tanks, and neither pump energizes when the key is turned on. It quit all of a sudden at the end of my driveway, which unfortunately is a half-mile long (no fun dragging it back). All fuses check with a meter, 3 underhood relays...

We had a horrible warehouse fire here last night (~7:15pm) at a Sofa Super Store, resulting in a tragic loss for our service community. Last night they thought 3 firefighters were missing and this morning they confirmed 9 had lost their lives. Our city is in shock. Please pray for the...

The C2B (Charleston to Bermuda race) is nearly upon us and the Maritime Festival is underway. Thought I would share some pics from one of the docks: Here's three of the four ships (well, technically only one is a ship but anyway): This is the stern of the Gloria here from Colombia. She is...

30-40% HP loss for a jet drive? Why?

Often times I read here about a loss of HP with a jet drive. I can't figure out why there would be such a loss, and as a result, am skeptical about such a great loss existing. I would think the HP losses would be similar to those of an outdrive. As the only one here with a jet drive (AFAIK)...

Anyone else in the Southeast with storm damage from last night?

Lost a big tree...probably 30+ inches in diameter...in the corner of one of my pastures. Luckily, no horses impacted and just missed the fences. What a mess, though. Looks like another Sunday on the tractor...

SPCA kill rate bumming me out...

Just saw on our local news that our local John Ancrum SPCA is building a new facility. They said it will hopefully enable them to adopt out 6,000 to 7,000 more animals per year, reducing their euthanization rate by 1/3. This means they're killing somewhere around 20,000 animals per year...

    Oxy / Acet Torch Preference...

We have an older Smith HD at our shop and I am in the market for a "home farm torch". I've been looking here and there, but can't really find anything objective. Right now I'm leaning towards the Smith as I like the safety features and the in-head mixing (not to mention it's what I'm used to)...
