    I have never used sea foam and don't intend to. The compressions are very low. If sea foam removes carbon as I hear it is supposed to, that wont improve compressions.     My favorite. I love these 25Hp motors. It certainly sounds like a fuel issue. Try this. Fill a spray bottle with fuel mix. Get on the pond and get her going. When she starts to falter spray fuel mix into the carb throat. If she picks up its a fuel problem. Now chase it.

    Check that the advance retard lever is fully back on its idle position stop. It should be as that is linked to the throttle mechanism. However there could be something disconnected or a pivot coupling broken.

    Did I miss something here. Compressions at 65. That motor is worn out. I have worked on a variety of Johnson/Evinrude 25Hp motors. Haven't seen one working properly that has not been at least 100Psi. A good one will be at 120Psi. Mine is. Pull the cylinder head and take a look.
