    thanks for any replies. i have j140tlcte ,83 140hp .ive driven a friends 85, 88hp v-4 when putting boat on trailer it will throdle up and really push the boat. my boat acts like it just will go to maybe 2500 rpm or so , it wont push the boat really hard on the trailer.my boat is slow getting...

    i have a j50tlco model johnson top cylinder was not firing or maybe some, the charge coil pt # 0581670 and sensor 0583387 had black tar running out of the bottom of them motor running good now. my question is what would cause this to happen and would i need to replace something else or check...
