    Driveshaft bearing race

I have a 1987 Suzuki dt65 that I have no idea what the history is. I have been taking apart the lower unit to see if it is worth salvaging. All the components I have pulled so far seem to be in good shape. However, the driveshaft bearing pretty much fell apart when I pulled the driveshaft...

    Prop shaft help

I have a 1985 Suzuki dt65. I bought a new aluminum prop to replace the stainless prop it came with. When I torqued the alum prop down (40lbs) it would rub against the bearing carrier housing, the stainless one didn’t. After looking at the parts diagram it appears to be missing the washer that...

Suzuki dt65 years of parts compatibility

I have a 1985 Suzuki dt65. Suzuki’s are fairly rare in my area. There is a 2002 dt65 with a seized head for sale nearby that cosmetically looks to be in very good shape. And frankly (from pictures) looks very similar. would the 2002 model have very many parts compatible with my 1985 model?

    Oil injection ports dt65

Thank you very much for the response! That information is very helpful I would not have assumed that. I won’t mess with it then. With that being said, I have cleaned/replaced all the check valves, replaced the lines, cleaned out the reservoir, replaced the oil filter, and cleaned and bled the...

    Oil injection ports dt65

Can the oil injection ports on a 1985 Suzuki dt65 be cleaned or replaced? Motor is new to me and I don’t know it’s history, but was not running when I took ownership. I don’t think oil is getting to the crankcase. When I blew compressed air through the port on the #2 crankcase fitting, I...

    1985 dt65 oil injection questions

I have a 1985 Suzuki dt65 with oil injection. On the gear inside the oil pump, are the two bumps supposed to be flat on top or pointed? I am trying to determine if the pump is worn out. It is not pumping correctly, in fact hardly at all. Also the brass ports where the oil injects Into the...

Exhaust fumes coming out thermostat housing

Ok, so I took your advice Sea Rider and bought a new set of muffs. The muffs fit really well and snug. Good advice, as I don’t know that I was getting enough water to the engine before when running on my old muffs. However, the pressure of the garden hose (which is pretty stout) was not...

Exhaust fumes coming out thermostat housing

Not a drop came out with the muffs. And I dropped the gear case and plumbed directly to the tube and still nothing. I even pulled the impeller out when on the muffs to make sure it wasn’t preventing flow. When hooked to muffs, I even duct taped around them to seal into place, but the water...

Exhaust fumes coming out thermostat housing

I suspect fresh water, as it is in Oklahoma, but I couldn’t say for 100% certain. and full disclosure, I bought some hammerhead to descale, but as it is my first attempt at descaling I wanted to try to do it with just water first to prof of concept the pump circuit. I did shoot air through the...

Exhaust fumes coming out thermostat housing

Hello all, I’m new here, but very excited to be on this forum. I’ve been learning so much! I have a 1985 Suzuki DT65. It is new to me but I don’t know much about it’s history. I’m an effort to try and descale the motor, (which I should note it only had a light amount of scale) I took off...
