i'm thinking of getting rid of my boat and i'm wondering if i'm better off selling the whole thing or parting out the engine since the parts are very hard to find.
Do you think there is still any demand for parts for this engine?

alas, my fuel pump seems to be failing on my yamaha sterndrive. It's leaky and my engine hesitates both in idle as well as while accelerating.
My question is, is it at all possible to get a replacement fuel pump for this engine? I know the OEM is pretty much impossible to find so...

I just noticed my drive belt was starting to wear out (as well as becoming very noisy)
Time to switch it out!
As usual for these boats, OEM parts are not really an option. Does anyone know of a suitable replacement that can ship quickly?

Now do you know if theres a special way of filling this baby up with oil? Or is it just a matter of opening the top plastic nut and topping up? Any specific oil to recommend? Thanks!

I also have the same water pump that is not sucking water. i noticed a small water leak coming from the pump itself. I am thinking that changing the 0-ring and the 2 oil seals could fix the problem. could anyone knowledgeable confirm?

Hi, i'm looking at a early 90's open hull sunray boat 16' with a mercruiser 3.0l engine and mercuiser outer unit (i beleive it is alpha one).
my problem is that the outer unit has suffered damage from a collision. obviously it will need a new prop but the drive shaft turns straight and smooth...
