    Where will I see the stream of water coming from my water pump if properly working? It's a 1964 Merc 65 hp? Is it the square hole on the back of the shaft?

    Hard starting when warm

    My 1964 merc 650 starts instantly the first time each day and last year ran great. This year, after running a while, it will not start when warm. Never fails to fire up when cold. Where should I begin? This has happened 3 of 3 times this year.

    Weight of wet foam

    I am assuming my boat has saturated foam and I am wondering how much weight saturated foam adds to a 16' boat. The difference in speed I reach with 2 people vs 4 people is pretty dramatic and the additional 2 people are kids.

    Can I do it?

    I'm thinking about rebuilding my LU. At a minimum I need new seals. Can a reasonably handy guy pull it off, and are special tools needed? If it's something I can attack, what is the best source (price/selection) for older Mercury parts? I see the price of parts varies quite a bit.

    Throttle adjustment

    Suggestions please

    1964 16' MFG Westfield with 1964 Mercury 65 HP. Took it out today for the first time and while it ran great, I was expecting a bit more speed. Currently the prop is 3 blade with a 15 pitch.
