    In the 40-50hp range whats the difference in lower units, asking because mine went to crap (98) and found one thats a 91... But im not sure if its compatible.

    clutch dog 1998 Johnson 40??

    So I went out fishing today, my motor had alot of problems getting into gear, in the end it would just rev really high, after being towed in, I took it to a mechanic who said the clutch dog gave out and would be 1000 atleast to replace, is this normal, can I do it myself and save the costs?

    I have a 2.5 hp mercury, i know the float isnt set right, I looked at the manuals and it should be at 3mm, but what does that mean? like how much float is stickout out after i bend the little metal for it?
