    Exuast backfires 1976 25hp evinrude

Have you checked the cam ring? The flywheel key orientate the cam ring, if the cam ring and flywheel not lining up right it can back fire and would not run. Have to ask too, are the HT wires at right spark plug?

    1999 Force/Merc 75HP 3 Cylinder 2-Stoke Rough Running Issues

Seams odd to me why the carbs not can be cleaned. OEM there is a WB-135A Walbro carb for top cylinder and WB-139A for middle and bottom cylinder. You can pull main jet, main nozzle, idle mixture screw and welsh plug from the carbs and the welsh plug is stock at various websites. Put the carbs in...

    1976 25hp evinrude flywheel problem

Different flywheels cause different ignition system. 76 has the low tension system with points and a drive coil under the flywheel. 78 has CDI ignition with a power pack. Sensor coil and a charge coil under the wheel.

    4hp Extension Gasket

As racerone says no gasket. That gasket #30 is shown as #38 in diagram exhaust housing as you pointed out. It is for the exhaust housing mounting to the lower pan.

    Mystery engine

Yes, agree but the 2 cylinder 40 and 50Hp had VRO. I have converted some 40 and 50Hp with that kind of fuel pump. You are able to put that pump at a 35Hp too.

    Mystery engine

I think those fuel pumps with a hose fitting to the pressure port is a retro fit pump if you convert from VRO to regular premix system. The VRO pump take pulses from the crank case with a hose connected to a fitting at crank case.

    Looking for some help

Have all pedals at each V-block a gap of 0,010 in or just some of them? The pedals should close completely to the mounting V-blocks, some can have a slight gap. 0,010 in gap sounds to much in my opinion, 0,003-0,005 in (0,07-0,10 millimeter) would be acceptable and at some of them. I use a flash...

    Looking for some help

Spray premix again in each carb and when it fires up try to choke it manually on and off with the choke rod. If you can get it to run longer than before then you have a fuel feed issue and I would suggest to check the reeds. They are behind the carbs in the manifold. V-blocks behind each carb...

    Looking for some help

If he has adjust the timing from 30 to 28 dgr BTDC at WOT and at top plug, the flywheel key is okey. BTW 28 or 30 drg BTDC does not matter, it will start and run with both.

    Looking for some help

When cold engine you have to choke these engines. The choke butterflies have to close completely when engaged. Spray some oil/fuel mixture with a spray bottle into the carbs while cranking. If the timing is right and you have right HT-wire at right spark plug it would start or cough. If not you...

    Force 125 throttle cables

I do not understand your question. "Part you rotate"? You screw the connectors to the cables. The one for the throttle is the longer one and it is spring loaded.

dirty water with oil coming out from the holes in the lower unit

Yes. it is normal and when you run it in a bucket all residue and oil will stay in the bucket. You will see more smoke when running it in a bucket. Two stroker smokes cause it burns oil and if the ratio oil/fuel is a bit more than 50:1 ..... yes you will see more smoke.

dirty water with oil coming out from the holes in the lower unit

These holes are for draining the midsection from water. The oil is unburned two stroke oil from the fuel mixture. Two strokers do not burn all oil, especially when idling. Smell at the oil, if it would be gear oil you will feel the different in smell.

    1989 4 CYl. trigger old style(prestolite) vs new style(CDI)

My suggestion is buy a new one, but they are expensive. You never know the status of a used one and it maybe work for a short while then fail. CDI Electronics might have some sort of warrenty.

    1999 Force/Merc 75HP 3 Cylinder 2-Stoke Rough Running Issues

Well, diaphragm or a piston in the primer. OMC has a piston, Force may have a diaphragm. I have never pull one a part. You have to activate and deactivate with the key pushed in. If it leaks through it the engine will run rich that is one of my suggestion to check for at this issue.
