Hi. Turning a 1999 johnson 50 hp model j50pleea into a tiller. The swivel bracket has a bolt in the normal steering friction spot. Is all I need to do is install the correct spring and bolt or is there something deeper in there to deal with? I need some way to tighten up the steering friction...

I've tried everything in my arsenal but can't get the lower pin to move. 1999 johnson 40 hp. I just want the unit out of there so if I have to sacrifice the side brackets that's fine by me. Question is the corrosion that makes these stuck in the area where the pin passes through the mounting...

Ordered pn 0432639 from boats.net according to the parts picture. Length is fine but inside hole way too small to go over carb shaft. I found on Google part number 0330056 which looks like a bigger hole. Not sure why the one it calls for wont work. Anyone know if the 330056 is...

I found the mounting bracket for the steering does anyone know all the parts needed to do the conversion? Anyone know if a handle from say a 6 or 9.9 would work in the bracket after installing the appropriate cable? Thanks
