I have a 1977 55hp evinrude outboard on a 15ft bass boat. Last few times we took it out it will not go faster than 25mph. All previous times it was going around 31 mph or so. The rpm's have also gone from 5200 down to 4600 or so.
What in the world would be causing this? I rebuilt the carbs but...

Ok guys I have a 1977 Evinrude 55 hp.
When I crank it up in the water with the warm up lever about half way up it will idle all day. When I lower the lever so I can put it in gear it will run for about 30 seconds and the idle will slow down until it sputters out and dies. It does the same...
