I have been working on this boat for awhile now so far I have changed the coupler ,gimbal bearing ,impeller (fixed a quarter inch hole in brass tube) put new bellows on and new water hoses. Still can't get it to run at 160 with new t stat. The motor has a heat exchanger on it I took the end caps...
Changed the impeller, now I can't get the lower unit of a early model alfa one back on.
read something about the boat being in gear.
the boats a 76 campion toba with a 233 351w.
any thought thank you.
I just bought a 26 foot campion toba the motor runs great, but on my first run it heated up to about 190.
so I powered down and it went down to 170. was wondering where to start looking for the problem.
the leg is supposed to be rebuilt looked great when i was buying the boat.
I bought a center console for my 16 foot starcraft and I need help hooking up my cables to the top mount controls it came with.
I need to know how to hook up the cables, starter switch and how to bypass the neutral switch in the old control box.
Thanks for any help
I did the impeller and it didnt change the amount of water coming out.
I also found water in the gear oil, drained it put the leg back on started
With muffs and no change in water flow. So im wondering about the seals
For the bottom end and why there is not much water is coming out.
I just got a Starcraft with a sixty five horse merc, serial number 3001309. I would like to change the impeller, and need to know the year to buy the part. Plus advise changing the impeller. Oh yeah, is there other gaskets for the lower unit.
Re: Soft spot
Alright I am back to work on the boat, kinda got side tracked for a long time. The soft spot I need to fix is to the right of the motor. I did get lucky on this boat, the floor has been redone by the P O he said, in 93 he redid the whole thing. the spot that is soft is a rotten...
