    73 Sea Ray restoration

I hope you all are doing good! Sorry it has been awhile since I posted. I could not justify another summer in the garage when the new boat is running fantastic! I also got my fishing lure company officially up and running so it has been busy! I went back through my sea ray and I plan on...

    07' Optimax 150 alarm issues

Well, I ran through the troubleshooting chart and confirmed it was the float. I have a new tank on the way which was a task in itself due to everything being on backorder. I got a few quotes for priming the oil pump which range from $60 all the way to $250 (crazy to just hook up a computer to...

    07' Optimax 150 alarm issues

I just got the manual today so i am going to run through the flow chart for the oil system. The vesselview should be here tomorrow so I can see what is exactly triggering the alarm. Hopefully all goes well because I would like to get the boat out a few more times before I have to put her away.

    07' Optimax 150 alarm issues

I have to order the manual, tried downloading from a link I found on the forum but it is broken now(worked for my mercruiser 140). I do have the document that says what the warnings mean. The particular one I have is a low oil warning or water in fuel (they are the same cadence). Which is...

    07' Optimax 150 alarm issues

I ended up calling the shop the previous owner took the boat to for everything. They didnt seem concerned because it did not go into limp mode told me to make sure that the motor is using oil and if I am concerned I can premix my gas. I am going to buy and install vessel view on it so i can...

I just got a new to me 2007 Crestliner 1850 sportfish with a Optimax 150 outside of basic maintenance I am not to familiar with outboards but I did rebuild a sterndrive so not mechanically incompetent. After about 2 hours the first time out I was getting 4 beeps every 2...

    73 Sea Ray restoration

Sorry been awhile since I have updated. I came in contact with an old family friend the guy who when I was a kid took my dad, brother, and I fishing for the first time on a boat. A week later my dad owned a boat and I have loved fishing ever since. Well with that said he gave me his boat...

    1965 StarCraft Explorer Rebuild

How did you determine the transom was solid? Knock tests dont work, only way to tell for sure is core samples. Just want to make sure you dont go through all this work to end up redoing it in a year or 2 if the transom is comprimised.

Start up issues with a Frankenstein 86 Mercruiser 3.0

Glad to hear. Bring some basic tools with you as you may need to make some adjustments on the carb, shift cables etc.

    1965 StarCraft Explorer Rebuild

I would definitely redesign how they have the floor supports. The way the stringers are cut into and no glass protecting that area as soon as water gets in there it will start to rot.

Start up issues with a Frankenstein 86 Mercruiser 3.0

should be closed if it is tdc on the compression stroke. The rockers can be out of adjustment if thats what you mean by set up wrong. The proper adjustment should be 3/4 past zero lash. (Confirm with a manual) it will also show you the procedures for adjusting while running and while static...

    Mercruiser 3.0 oil pan gasket

I would advise against rtv, the P.O. of my boat rebuilt the lower end of the motor in my boat and used rtv. I had the motor out to do the transom and replaced all the gaskets except that one(due to price and scraping all that rtv off). Once I got it back in and started sure enough it leaked...
