Basic sonar with GPS and lake maps?

To close the circle, I just ordered a Lowrance Eagle 9 with the Tripleshot transducer and C-maps Discovery. I remembered I had a 15% coupon from Sportsman’s Warehouse so I picked it up for $650 plus tax. I was persuaded by the arguments in favor of the bigger screen. Buy once, cry once as they say.

Dash mount so I can see the map while driving. I have a separate unit with a transducer mounted to my trolling motor at the bow.

100% freshwater. Bass mostly, some musky.

Basic sonar with GPS and lake maps?

My Lowrance LMS-332c is starting to develop dead screen areas, and it’s 20 years old anyway, so I’m in the market for a replacement. I don’t need a giant screen or FFS, just something that will tell me the depth and contour, retain a track of my movement and allow me to store waypoints...

Piston soaking a 2 cycle outboard?

The whole point of preventative maintenance is to avoid having to make a last ditch effort :)

Piston soaking a 2 cycle outboard?

Let me add some background to explain why I‘m asking the question. Toyota’s main 2.4 liter engine in the mid 2000‘s was the 2AZ-FE. It was in the Camry, RAV4 and a bunch of Scions. In 2007 they made an engineering change and began using new pistons with low tension rings and what eventually...

Self-inflating PFD inflated in storage. Common?

This sounds like a prudent idea going forward. I've also discovered today that you can buy the bobbins by themselves quite a bit cheaper than the rearm kits. The CO2 carts can be bought from a number of sources as well.

Self-inflating PFD inflated in storage. Common?

I think the bobbin just went bad. it wouldn't hold when I tried to reset it. maybe humidity?

Self-inflating PFD inflated in storage. Common?

My self-inflating PFD was rearmed just last year and didn't get wet, but it inflated itself in the cab of my truck sometime in the last week or two. Is this a common problem? I hate the idea of buying a $25 rearm kit every year and I hate even worse the idea it will inflate and then be useless...

This shaft is too long, right?

Thanks. Somehow I had gotten it in my head this was a long shaft motor.

This shaft is too long, right?

This is my 9.9 Evinrude on my 1648 Lowe Jon boat. This is a long shaft on a short transom, right? It seems to run fine and will plane the boat with two people. Should I elevate the transom to the correct height or just keep using it as-is? I could certainly fish shallower water if it were up a...

    Ultracraft boats?

A guy locally has a 2006 Ultracraft 16ft fishing boat for sale. Google tells me very little about this brand. Any one have any opinions of them? I would mostly be interested because of the 25 HP Mercury outboard, but It would be a plus if the hull were of good quality.

Battery sizing and load doesn’t make sense

It’s an outboard, and fortunately one that doesn’t require extended cranking. It’s just that I frequently am away from power for a week or so and I worry about the extra load. The motor doesn’t keep the battery fully topped off because it often takes a while to being it back to full charge when...

Battery sizing and load doesn’t make sense

This was my thinking as well, but I wasn’t confident I was correct.
