I had the boat professionally winterized...Found a bag with 2 brass threaded plugs...with a note to reinstall them in the spring before i start the boat...Is that normal to leave them out? I wonder where they go....i assume one on each side of the block. Thanks for your help.
I have this old boat ( 1961 crestliner falcon ) with the original speedometer.I hasnt worked in donkeys years so i bought a new on Ebay...Its new old stock. I know it hooks up to the pito tube at the back of the boat....There are two electrical connections....do these need to be hooked up for it...

I bought it this summer and am happy.....but its my first I/O (4.3 volvo)and i think it's a nice looking boat. I am wondering if its still a popular boat and was it a quality boat. It seems like other brands have flooded the market.Thanks
I just removed the battery to my 1997 4.3gl 18' Glastron....Its not a marine battery....it really didnt fit the battery tray...Its a few inches longer. That being said i had no issues with it. Is it ok to use to it dies. I never have to charge it so everything seems to be working fine. Thanks
I have a 1997 4.3gs..It runs great .Dosnt use any oil and has been taken care of....I am not the original owner . I am wondering how many hours till most need a rebuild....I was told the 3.0 litres go about 1000-1200 hours and the 4.3 go about 2000 hours....Is that about right? Thanks
I am in Ontario....Generally run the boat May 01 to Oct 01.....so the temperature is always above 18 or so...or lets say high 60's...I am having it winterized and bought synthetic 5w20...Is that ok for my 1997 4.3gl Volvo out drive....Thanks

Its spring and its time to spruce up the outboard. I want to repaint it the original colours with decals( all of mine are missing when i bought it last year). The engine plate suggests it's a 1970 40hp big twin. 40053a. Anyone have any idea of what this engine looked like new with the decals...
