hopefully these will help. this is how i did it last time. i’m just wondering if it would be easier to drill out the rivets and remove the entire back panel instead of the cap and bending the top angle
what’s your thoughts on the top section of the rear panel? i did one previously where i just bent it up straight, but it was imposible to bend back nicely. it worked, but it was pretty waves and not flat like it was originally.
has anybody else replaced a transom on a Lund tyee(or similar), with an I/O? I’m wondering if it’s better to lift the cap and bend the top of the skin, or drill out 200 some odd rivets and remove the rear skin completely? I know the engine and drive and bellhousing has to come off, along with...
hoping someone can help me here. I have a ‘94 volvo 434A and i need a carb base gasket. it has a holley 4175. the gasket that came with the holley carb kit i ordered just barely covers the mounting surface of the intake. it is a single plane intake, which i assume is original. the carb number is...
unfortunately i’m aware, and this boat is aluminum. i’ve replaced the wood on this same model once before, as a complete rebuild. I’d be able to weld in a new piece of aluminum and cut out the mercruiser hole, if it comes to that. i’m just debating what point that will be. the boat is 32 years...
to add another question then, if parts are non-existent, or might as well be, what is the preferred option for a new drive? is there something newer that is available that will bolt up without having to change the transom?
the boat i bought actually came with a “spare” lower unit, although i’m assuming the internals are trash, as the tapered bearing on the pinion shaft if shot. I haven’t taken it apart yet, but that’s why i was looking around for parts.
I’m just wondering if these parts are still available new? or have they been discontinued and have to find good used ones? I am having trouble finding anywhere that lists them. I’ve found part numbers, but haven’t been able to find the actual parts for sale. hope that makes sense. don’t actually...
just got this boat, and the person i bought it from said he had swapped the carb from a 305 in another boat. they were both holley 4175 carbs. the carb number i have is 80552. I have ordered the correct rebuild kit for this carb. my question is if this carb is going to perform well on this...
I know this is a stupid question, but when looking for parts for my boat(online), I can’t figure out what exactly I have. it’s a 1994 volvo 434, but the tag on the engine cover doesn’t match what comes up on the parts websites. it is paired with a DP-C outdrive. most sites list either AQ, gx,or...
