I've been an evinrude guy on this board for about 5 years. Just recently had to retire my 1970 rude. Upgraded to a 1983 115 hp mercury. Compression was 125 across all 6. Coils were checked and replaced for those that needed it. fuel lines from tank to motor are new. Motor starts up great...
I know iboats is a great resource to find a lot of old parts. What about parts they can't get like lower units. Where do people go to buy/sell these? I don't want to put something for sale here and make anyone mad. Thanks in advance.
Two of the threads on the mounting bolts(?) have stripped. I backed out them out with a vise grip. Question, can a guy use a regular bolt or are their replacement parts for this item? They are not bolts, just threaded stubs. Thanks in advance.

I thought I saw the answer to this on a different thread but couldn't find when I looked again. Saw on iboats that prop selection only goes from 1973 and newer when searching. Am I assuming these 1973 and newer props fit a 1970? Thanks.

Have a very slight leak coming out of the inner/outer exhaust. Seems like a simple procedure. Does a guy have to remove the t-stat in order to get the outer/inner exhaust covers? Is it easier to remove the AFT exhaust cover?

had this for a few years and she has ran real well for me. I noticed this year that she ran a little hotter than years past(temp guage installed). Didn't worry, since the place I was fishing was technically an idle speed only lake. Yesterday took it out on the river and didn't run it past 3/4...
