So when I was running the boat in muffs, the hose snapped off the fitting and the boat ran dry for a bit. I'd say 3 mins tops.
I have replaced the water pickup in the outdrive. But I'm concerned about other damage to the recirc pump on the motor.

I had the same problem last year and temorally fixed it with a little doughnut shaped spill pad that goes around the pump.

I put a straw on both ends to clean it out. The lower portion was able flow, but the upper (going up the upper unit) was clogged.

So I finally got to replace the pump, I had a question about a small hose just forward of the shift lever. Is this for the speedometer?
I thought I broke it when I split the upper and lower unit apart. Seems there is a male and a female connector...
