    Ease of towing larger boat

Not doubting you or anything, however your F350 can only haul 9,840 lbs legally? How do the professionals with F350s haul 15, 20, 30,000 lb loads day in and day out? An F350 only has a 19,000 lb GCWR?

    Rinker Fiesta Vee 265 (1994)

Stringers, transom, engine mounting blocks, bulkheads and decks should be sounded for rot. Check the fuel tank for leaks. If the seller allows, a compression test never hurts.

    Ease of towing larger boat

We had a 25' Regal last season that we towed to and from the ramp 2 times a week all summer. Wife watched the kids while I loaded and unloaded. Moved to a 26' Cruiser Inc this season which is trailered as well. I don't mind the loading and unloading, but may entertain a slip if I keep the boat.

So... I want to buy a boat, but I know nothing about them.

They will be 8-8.5' wide. One "21 foot" boat that stands out as a huge 21'er is an older Carver 2157 Montego. Very large for a boat called a 21'er.

So... I want to buy a boat, but I know nothing about them.

Almost any 21' cuddy will be extremely cramped inside the cabin. Sea Ray, Bayliner a couple others made 21' boats with small heads, galleys and even bunks under the helm (typically called an aft cabin). These will be 1980s, possibly early 1990s boats. With that said, A/C is almost certainly not...

    1989 San Marino 250

If you can't find the fresh water tank, you should have a fill location somewhere on the boat. My last boat it was in the bow under the Vberth. My current boat it is in the middle. Both boats had water pump switches. My last boat was in the head compartment, and my current boat it is under the...

    Beware

That's a shame, but any older boat you purchase needs to be inspected for structural issues. If you can inspect, perfect. If you aren't comfortable, hire a surveyor. Did they explain how the transom is causing water to get in?

    Cabin fabric

Sailrite offers a lot of marine fabric. My fathers 88 Sea Ray has a padded fabric type material on the walls. I can't imagine wanting to replace it with the same product (more of the ugly color then anything).

    Looking At A 1992 LUHRS TOURNAMENT 342

I believe that boat had a single 300 gallon tank, correct? You may be able to find good used tanks to fit in the space (my be less total fuel capacity, but much cheaper).

    Rent a cabin cruiser?

No idea where to rent, but we had a 25' last season and a 26' this season. Both were single I/Os, as were a lot in this size range. Depending on the boat you get, a normal newer 1/2 ton should tow it ok. We towed/launched our 25'er two times a week last year, but this is about the size where you...

    Mercruiser Identification

I think that is the case. Just had me confused, and slightly concerned someone put a 305 in, and then slapped a "350 MAG" closed cooling system on it.

    Mercruiser Identification

I clicked on your link and this is one of the pages where it seems to indicate a 200hp 5.0L 2bbl engine.

    85 ciera 2550 galley replacement

I found some decent photos on a web search, but of course measurements would have to be eyeballed. As much as I try not to steer people away, there is a decent Bayliner Forum at the Bayliner Owners Club. I imagine someone with a 2550 could measure it up for you.

    Mercruiser Identification

I assumed it was a 350 and the closed cooling set up came off some 350 "MAG" engine, however the fact that a couple websites say 200 hp 5.0 (305) when I type my serial number in, now I'm uncertain. If it runs well and doesn't struggle, I guess it doesn't truly matter, however I always like to...

Monkey Fur dye, anyone done it?

Autoparts store had it. Most didn't have white, but they ordered it and had it in a couple days.
