    New bow board

Another question about the bow area. What or how is the bow seating setup from factory? My boat (ss16) was all dismantled when it was given to me so I wasn’t sure if there was plywood riveted to the supports then the bow seat cushions just rest on top of the plywood? Hope that question makes sense

    New bow board

well it looks like I’ll be tearing apart my boat even more than I planned to. I’ve been at that point more than once in this restoration

    New bow board

Is it possible to replace this bow board without taking off the gunnels or the bow top aluminum? I can’t see any way to get a new full length board in there. The board is rotten to the point where the screws that hold on the trim have nothing to bite into. I’ve already painted the gunnels and...

    Ss16 floor supports

Good deal, that’s the answer I was hoping to get because fixing it would be time consuming. I am used to making measurements to 1/32” so leaving it as is goes against what feels right, but I’m sure there’s more important things to focus on

    Ss16 floor supports

In my ss16 the 2 stringers that support the floor are sitting higher than the rib ends by up to 1/4” but it is different at each one. I don’t know if this is common or if it’s even an issue. Do you all just leave it as is, or 1) shim each rib end so the floor sits flat? If so, what do you use...

    198x SS-150 rebuild

Yup that’s it. I used a flexible metal putty knife to scrape it off after it soaked a few minutes

    198x SS-150 rebuild

Klean Strip brush cleaner worked great for me to remove the carpet adhesive. Brush it on and scrape off a few minutes later. Goof off did nothing for me

    Flooring question

Thank you. Did you fill over the rivet head with any filler then such as marinetex or jbweld? I am going to varnish my floor so I won’t have epoxy to use for a filler

I am in the process of doing a new floor in a ss16 and was curious what drill bit people use or what method works best for countersinking the rivet heads in the plywood?
