broke out the electric chainsaw today and cut into the deck found out why she was spongy pulled some foam back and it smelled like someone took a dump in my boat about an inch of water locked in under the foam here are some pics...
i recently took ownership of an 18ft trihull with a 1975 merc 1500 outboard engine it ran last fall this spring it wouldnt start so upon investigating it looks like no spark issue due to a shot wiring harness on engine i priced out a harness a cdi box and then looked at the price of dist cap...

in a few pics i have seen some boats that have a paint like coating on the floor instead of carpet i have thought about the bedliners kits i see at walmart but they are all black way too hot for the floor but carpet gets nasty what do you guys use ????
i am new to the big outboards the boat i have has a tilt switch on the dash but nothing on the transom can i buy the 39 dollar switch and tie it in to the wiring so i can tilt the boat when i am in the rear ??
it has been about 20 years since i piloted a tri hull (or any boat of my own)
was wondering if any body had any tips if i remember right they track nice and straight but turning at speed is difficult :cool:
