First timer needs advice, information...

Hello, I just bought my first boat, and it's a project to say the least. It was titled back in 2014 last as 1968 17' Arrow Glass. It's been stripped inside almost completely, and I can't seem to find any pics or info on what it use to, or suppose to look like. Anyone have any pointers? It came with an older 115HP Mercury strapped to it as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First off Welcome to the forum. :welcome: You will find many people willing to help and bounce ideas off of.

With that being said, before we can assist we will need to see what you are working with. Forum requires three posts before you can post pictures. To get around this you can provide link to photos if you use photobucket or drop box. Once you meet the requirement, follow the below link to learn how to add photos to your thread.

Thank you SHSU!! I don't have photobucket or drop box...so I will look into setting one of those pages up to provide a link for photos. It's pretty rough looking, but I think I should be able to get her cruisin' again soon. My wife is already pressing for me to get it done, and get her on the water! lol

I can see one pic. Assuming you have clear title and ownership, the following is offered..

Others will be along, but I think you should verify transom and stringer integrity, then decide how much time/effort/$$$ you want to put into it. Does the motor run? Any more pics?

Yep, I see the pic as well. Looks like quite a project there. As GG mentioned, I would defiantly take the time to research and understand what you are about ready to get into. Not trying to scare you but want to make sure you fully fathom the amount of time and money it appears it will take to make her something you will have years of enjoyment on.

From what I see:

Trailer will require attention. How did you get it there? I don't see any tires. Looks like fire damage at the rear, am I seeing that right? Would need a complete blasting and rebuild or new trailer

Motor looks to be a Mercury Tower of power. You would need to get it off, make sure you have good compression, replace all your seals, impeller, spark plugs, redo carb, and check the tilt and trim.

Boat should be properly stripped of everything, even taking the cap off to do it right. Take out all the old stringers and transom (I can't see any of that still being in good shape with what I am seeing). Then properly putting it back together.

Once done, you will have a better boat then when it came out of the factory.

With that quick snip it, I will say that if you are willing to put in the time, money, and energy you have definitely found a place where there is plenty of knowledge to offer and help you along.

Noticed it looks like that boat is in Texas. Are you in Texas? If so, you need the title to the Boat, Motor, and trailer (or bill of sale). If you don't have that, it will be difficult to register and takes a lot of time (i.e 6 months if I remember correctly)
