imraan47,
Just keep plugging away and you will get there. Mine is going a lot slower then I would like.

Thanks tallcanadian,
I will work on trying a darker color.

Hey Bill,
That sounds like a good motor, Hummmm Road trip. Just kidding, I really would love to have it but that would be a long haul. Of coarse I am use to road trips, Hummmmm.:p
Thanks for the input folks.

That would look nice Bob, but then again you know I like red! I have a 4.3 in Sea Ray 18.5', nice little motor. Runs smooth, easy on gas but will still yank a skier right up. I say go for the upgrade!

Re: Timid but determined Glasstream restoration

Hey arch,
Thanks for the input.
I'm looking for another 4.3L. I may go ahead and glass in the motor mounts for the motor so I don't have to go back and do it later. I will have to do some more research now. Oh well, at least I have the time.
Thanks again.

Hey folks,
Thanks for all the input.
Hey mrdjflores,
Thanks, I really like it too. You can play around any time you want. You are a lot better at it then I am.
imraan47,
I'm not sure yet which way I'm going yet. Still looking at my options.
Thanks again.

Re: Timid but determined Glasstream restoration

OK folks,
I found out where Murphy has been hiding lately. This is what I found when I got home.
IMG00283.jpg

The tarp covering my boat had collapsed during a storm. I had about 20 gallons of water in it.
IMG00284.jpg

Lucky for me most was still on the tarp and not under it.
I hope you are all having a productive weekend.

Hey Bob,
Sorry to hear that, and here I thought Murphy had permanently moved in with me. OK, now for the tough question, which one of us are claiming him on our taxes this year LOL

Re: Timid but determined Glasstream restoration

Now for a better update.
After I got the water cleaned up and dried out I went to work.
I took a couple extra days off work to get a least some time on the boat.
You may remember this pic of the side bulkhead and the spacers I added.
IMG00280.jpg

Some were confused as to the why. Well those spacers were to support the top board. I got both topped off but only the one on the right completely glassed in.
IMG00286.jpg

I wrapped the bulkhead with one layer of 18oz woven and two layers of 1.5oz of CSM. I wrapped it about 2-4 inches over the stringer and it is also glued to the stringer with PL. It's not going anywhere. The Main reason for this was I couldn't get between them to glass it in properly so I glassed the back side before installation.
Now I know it's water tight.
I also completed the ski locker and have it completely glassed in.
IMG00289.jpg
.
Well that's about all I got done to date. When I get back home I will glass in the other bulkhead on the left and the sub-decks.
One more pick from a different angle.

Remember that any feedback is welcome.
Have a good easter weekend.

Hey Bill,
I think we should be able to share him.
He cost almost as much as the Gov.

Well, even with Murphy hanging around I haven't lost or had any tools break on me yet.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
