Basically looking for something to anchor or stiffen the windshield in-between the edge supports . I have even considered a strip of mahogany with a channel routed out to receive the windshield ..

You may be able to just use some small strips of butyl tape to seal in the edges with or without the routed wood strips.

Did a little fine tuning on the templates for the wind shield . I had a scrap piece of plexiglass I dug out of the dumpster at work . Was thinking instead of a gasket or trim maybe just install these standard window clips ..

looks good sam. do you actually need the additional support? seems like laminated glass would span from the outside to the inside.

Not sure what type glass I will go with .
I know a pm for local glass company we have done a lot of business with over the years .
He said to make the template and bring it over with the brackets and we will figure out what to use .
Im afraid real glass might be more subject to breaking than some other product . Idk

Fuggly came from the factory with laminated, which is typical for automotive windshields. But now that I am thinking about it, you have an exposed edge so that probably isn't a good choice. I would probably go with tempered for safety reasons and it is much stronger than non-tempered. We use it for glass shelves all the time and I am amazed at how strong it is. Plexiglass is always durable, I just hate how it scratches. Fuggly's side windows were Plexiglas but I changed to laminated glass when I replaced them for the scratch resistance.

Just doing a little prep on the speeditwin .. What’s a good filler to take care of a few dings over aluminum..
The prop is gunna get shined up . I might can talk the Admiral into working on that . At least get it close then I could finish it up .
ZC or SE primer for the aluminum ....?

use a aluminum brazing rod then sand ! can get away with it from hd and the yellow can gas "map"

all-metal body filler is made with aluminum dust

devcon metal repair epoxy is another one

then again some west system epoxy and filler would work

I'd go like grumpy says. Brazing aluminum can turn into a nightmare. Very thin wall. If you take that brazing route make some practice burns.

Have to agree - I tried the aluminum rods a few times and always got horrible warp with them.

Woody , the thought of a making a bottom and top rail out of oak or mahogany to hold the glass did cross my mind . But I have the chrome brackets so I’ll probably just use them . At first I think I’ll try and keep it simple .
