I have a 1988 or 89 50hp force and i was wondering how you check the recirculation screens on these motors and if dirty or clogged what would it look like?

I have a 89 50hp force that seems to vibrate more than any other motor i have had , it is not brutal but more than i would think it would be at idle. Motor is in good shape and pops right off after you start her the first time of the day.
any ideas

I was looking to get a 16.5ft. charger that has a 1998 90hp rude that the guys swears the tach says it is only turning 4200 rpm at wot. Does this sound right and if the tach were right what would affect the rpm like that/

I have an 89 force 50 .i think the oil and gas took a toll on the open cell foam that was in there it disintergrated to dust. Can i use neoprene, or would something else be better.

I was looking at buying a boat with this motor and the owner said it would go about 38mph at WOT and the max rpm is about 4500, doesn't that sound low for this setup? It is on a 17ft. charger<br /><br /><br />thnx<br />mark
I uncovered the boat after its winter nap and noticed some white powder on the engine mount bolts where it goes thru the splashwell , almost looks like the stuff that gets on battery posts. Anybody got an idea what this is?<br /><br /><br />thnx<br />mark
