No Spark #3 cylinder, 130psi on all three cylinders.

Man someone has done some creative wiring. (Unless that is factory!)

IMG_0402.jpg

So these are the two plugs from CDI's to Stators/Mags

I measured one at 685ohms or so and the other is jumping all over the place. I would imagine this is part of the issue.

Does someone have a wiring diagram or schematic for this piece of ....... amazing iron!! (didn't want to lose it yet)

Thanks ahead of time.

Should be a diagram on the motor????
Outboard iginition . com and cdi diagnostic both have test procedures for the unit.

This is the only one I can find. You might want to save it and enlarge and print it.

So I have sorted out wiring thanks to Jiggs (Cheers Man)

Ok so it appears to have a bad CDI, stator is ok. Where is the CHEAPEST place to get a NEW cdi outside of ebay? Outboardignition.com wants $302 which is insane!!!!!

Here are a couple of places that I've used before with decent prices and good service.

Give these folks a call. They sell CDI ignition parts which are pretty much what everyone else sells but they're the cheapest I've been able to find.

http://www.outboardparts.com/chrysler/mall/chryslerforcecdignition.htm

Or try these folks. NOTE: The prices shown are wholesale prices. Cost to individuals is about $20 or $30 more. The CD modules are listed as "Ignition Modules". They manufacture everything they sell themselves. I've used them with no problems.

Re: Yet again another 1985 Force 85hp spark issue!!

Ok so I figured out how to use the unused side of second CDI, changed the trigger to the other side of CDI and boom all 3 cylinders are now firing.!!!!!!) very happy and did not have to spend anything on it. Also added TELLTALE and tons of water pressure too!

So now 130psi all cylinders, firing all cylinders and lots of water pressure......now I just have to finish boat! LOL

Thanks for every ones help! Cheers
