Howdy All,

I am enquiring about a Mercury outboard. It has an Australian Serial number 3917132 with the wrap-around cover, thunderbolt ignition, powertrim. The decals are missing but the residual image appears to be 1150. It is a 2 stroke inline six cylinder. I am also after an owners manual if anyone has a spare or am willing to pay for it.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Gerry,

The serial number is correct, I think. It comes off the mounting bracket between the mount screws. From the parts link you provided, the cowelling and front cover appear the same.

Being such an old motor, what was their reliability like?

Tim;

Old is sometimes better, compared to some of the sensitive electronics they hang on them today. I have a 1968 Merc 500 that has been overhauled twice and has been a faultless performer as long as preventative and routine maintenance is applied.
