Thanks to all those who walked me through cleaning the water jackets and replacing the thermostats. This immediately solved my over heating problems. Ooops...but now after working on the boat off and on for 6months I took it out for a spin. It runs fine up through 3500 rpms but then want to bog down, maxing out at 3800 to 4000 rpms. My suspicion is that its bad gas thats been in the boat for the last year. But I don't have any experience with this. My guess is that I had about 4 gallons in the tank, and I added 6 fresh gallons. Same results. Does this sound like a bad gas issue to you experts, or did I miss re-attaching a wire somewhere when I put the water jackets back on. Thanks

Not sure about a missed wire, I suppose a loose ground could cause something like that. If you think it's the gas, try testing with a portable tank.
