I have a 2004 Yamaha Vmax, the V150TLRC on my Statos that I got a few months ago. The RPM Gauge has not worked but the needle will move just a little bit every once and a while. I have checked wires and for corrosion and fuses Can anyone point me in the right direction of somthing I might have overlooked before I order a new tach.

In a V150TLRC model the tachometer signal does not come from the voltage regulator. It comes from the CDI assembly.

Via a green wire. That crosses several connectors before it makes it way to the tachometer. I would disconnect, inspect and reconnect all of the applicable connectors. See if that will solve your problem.

It is most difficult for me to try and keep up with the many Yamaha differences. Can't imagine throwing Mercury and Evinrude into the mix.
