Yes you can . Look for the cam on the front where the motor tilts. The old cams were plastic and the updated ones are a metal. it has a single screw. Loosen it and turn to find where you need it to stop.

True, the metal cam is much better than the old plastic one. Problem is the adjustment cam is only used for the trim sensor reference and trim gauge calibration, and will not limit tilt or trim travel. A picture of the steering setup at the engine would help.
I had the same issue with the teleflex BayStar on the Stanley and was able to gain the req'd clearance by remounting the steering cylinder from below to above the steering arm.
