Hello,
I have a Yamaha 70hp. I recently replaced the throttle cable and noticed that I cannot get it to idle properly. If I were to throttle it up all the way, then bring it back into neutral, the idle indicator needle would stay at the "II" position. At that position, the engine would reline in neutral. I've attempted to adjust the throttle cable, and found that the cable would reach to put the idle indicator to a proper idle position. The problem is, that there isn't sufficient tension in the throttle cable or throttle linkage to push the idle back to a normal position. The way that it is now, is I can manually put the idle in a usable position, but when I throttle it up, then throttle it back down, idle setting would stay at position "II".
If there is a way to adjust the throttle linkage tension, to pull the throttle cable and idle back, that would resolve all my issues, but I can't seem to find a way to do so.
Any help would be much appreciated.
