WTB GPS Undecided Need Help

I have an older standard horizon Nav-40 it seems to be drastically off so Im looking for a new gps unit. Main features im looking for is cost i dont want to spend over $400 i also need the unit to be able to use Loran TD #'s besides those 2 things im open to any suggestions. Handheld or mounted doesn't matter.

GPS will not, can not, and does not use TD's, nor will it convert them.

The Loran TD lines were not that accurate. I would bet your GPS was giving a very accurate location, and it has no clue to figure out where your inaccurate TD lines are. Loran was very accurate for being able to accurately put you back in the same spot each time, but it wasn't very good at telling where that spot actually was.
To make matters worse, the loran stations have been shut down by the USCG.

Garmin makes a realy nice sounder/gps that you can get maps for, it is super accurate with the WAAS and tracks your path so you have a line to follow back home, don't know if that is what you are looking for but I love mine.

GPS receivers typically do not provide conversion of LORAN time delay data to position. If you have LORAN data you want to convert, look for a computer application that can perform the conversion. I will give you a link below that will lead you to a great deal of information on conversion of LORAN time delay to position coordinates:

A good GPS receiver is the GlobalSAT Bu-353. It is less than $40. I have been using one for several years. It's a great GPS receiver. See:

I don't think you can find a better, more sensitive, less expensive GPS receiver than the BU-353.

I don't think you can find a better, more sensitive, less expensive GPS receiver than the BU-353.

Isn't the BU-353 simply an antenna? You probably need some sort of GPS software for your computer. Any suggestions?
