The source of the ignition is probably a whole different dicussion. My point was the importance of monitoring the refuel of your boat.

Back in July, Towboat U.S. recovered a 45' SeaRay here after 200-some gallons of gasoline was pumped into its diesel tanks.

That was a case of "right hole, wrong nozzle".:D

The pump's are sealed, but the switches aren't. If the fumes got behind the switch panel, it would set it off.

Another thought is that the crimp and idc splices I've seen in boats are likely to spark with little provocation.

I agree with you, the switch more than likely, I was just pointing out that starting the blowers should generally not cause a problem due to the blowers.

DaNija, I agree with you. I refuel my own boat...
