My SIL go married yesterday. Nice ceremony at a church, followed by a reception at a reception hall. I haven't been to a wedding in a few years, so I was impressed by some of the cool tech stuff they did. The photographers/videographers were outstanding. Right from start of the reception, photos of the wedding ceremony were playing on LCD screens. So everyone got to see the wedding photos during cocktail hour.

In the main ballroom, the DJ and had large LCD screens on stands and were feeding the photographers digital photos right into the displays so every 10 minutes or so new photos of the party were displayed. I thought that was cool!

They also had pyrotechnics rigged so after the first solo bride/groom dance, a rocking song blasts out and the sparks begin to fly lighting the dance floor with fountians showering sparks up into the air. Then everyone came out to the dance floor. Never saw pyrotechnics at a wedding before. And they burned for 2 or 3 minutes. Got a little smokey, but the air cleared quickly.

All the music was digital, and the DJ picked songs off a screen on his "mixing board" (not sure what you call this machine). It was neat, digital display of the graphic equilizer, no 12" records or even CD's to mess with. It all on digital memory or hard drive. And they have every piece of music on there that you could possably request, from 50's to present, country, salsa, as well as all the popular club tunes. Quite the complete setup. Not one record player is sight.

The reception was a blast, good food, good music, and everything went off without a hitch.

My wife was the matron of honor, my daughter was the flower girl, my son was the ring bearer, and my step son was an usher. So I have a lot of nice photos of them all dressed up.

I was not looking forward to this wedding being the day after Christmas, but I sure changed my mind after attending. We all had a great time. This was a very pricy wedding, but they did get what they paid for.
