Would Smart Tabs help with the pounding?

You guys have a different perception of value than me.
I am an anomoly in that I keep my boats a long time. My last family boat was 35 years old when I sold it, and some of my current boats are 57, 61 and 69 years old. As such, for me cost is no object, within reason.

But that's not the norm today. Most people I know are quick to upgrade. In that case, if your mods exceed the value of the boat and they aren't value added options, it may make no sense.

Totally makes sense.
Although Bayliners are shunned by many, our 2003 BR 185 with the 4.3L Alpha 1 Gen 2 has been very good to us. We are the third owner and have owned it for 8 years. We keep it in our garage during the off season and during the boating season it's kept in our driveway. I keep a second cover over the mooring covers which keeps the boat literally bone dry.

I like the idea of the electric trim tabs, but they are a bit pricey for my budget and the more economical Smart Tabs won't correct the pounding. So, I guess I'll just keep doing what I've been doing to keep the ride as comfortable as possible....just slowing down for the wakes and other rough water.

That's what Grandpa taught me back in 1954. Works every time. HIS reason was that Grandma yelled at him if the boat bounced too much...
