I couldn't get a pulse hose locally, but I have some fuel line that I can use.If I cut the fuel line short like the pulse hose it kinks up, but I can triple the length with fuel hose and have no kinks in the line.Would it be ok to do that?, or will the length decrease the pressure to the fuel pump?.

I am not sure of the answer to your question. The pulse hoses on my Merc had springs inside them to prevent kinking. How about that?

Change in internal volume of the hose might affect the pulse operating in the pump. This goes both on increasing internal diameter, length and hose material that might 'baloon' if too soft. Might be more critical the higher the pulse frequency (rpm) of the engine. As mentioned above, you may use an internal spring to prevent the hose from collapsing when bending it.

1981 175 , it wasn't fuel line it was vacuum hose.I found another post somewhere that said it is better to keep hose as short as possible and to avoid low spots where oil may accumulate and cause a decrease in pulse, so I just worked with the hose get it to not kink ,and keep it as close to length as possible. It worked and I'm not having any issues so far.
