Re: With a little help from my friends.
Awww, come on oops!, they couldn't be easier to fix. Just whack each side with a hammer and voila! rebucked rivet. Gotta love anything on a boat that you can fix with hammers
Sure beats messing with all those foul chemicals, grinders, masks, mats, and resins, etc.... Although, I share the lack of enthusiasm for a leaky tinny, as a matter of principal, but I've learned to be more philosophical about it, and just accept a bit of water (never more than 1/2 cup). I just keep a big 'ol sea sponge handy, kayak style, to soak up any water and wring it out as needed. I suppose I could drill out and replace any leaky rivets, clean the seams, apply some Gluvit, paint the seams to protect the gluvit I just applied, then reinstall the floors I had to rip out to do the gluvit and rebuck the rivets in the first place, but I think I'll just stick with the sponge. It's only $2 and a lot less trouble. Lets see somebody fix anything on a glasser for $2
Plus, aluminum is shinny and shinny is good. Tinny power!
Tinny + OMC = Good time on the water!
