No problem I apologize for the silly drawing not showing up it looked like I was still talking about the wrong diagram haha. Just out of curiosity are you still running off only 1 alternator? or have you considered running off just 1 and letting the other spin? I don't know what the repercussions of running two alternators with different charging characteristics might be!

I run both alternators. I haven't had any problems. One alternator did stop working once and the other just kept chugging along--I didn't even know the one had gone bad until I was flushing the engines one at a time and noticed the starboard engine wasn't charging. As long as both engines were running both the volt gauges read normal. 13V give or take.

The only disadvantage I see to my system comes when there is a short in one engine harness, but even then I can shut the switch off completely and disconnect the bad engine to get it out of the circuit. I am happy with the way mine is setup. The only time I touch the switch is if I am going to sit on anchor for an extended period.

ok. this is the wiring i will use, i think is the safest. just confirm me the way o operation.

1 -both master kill switch on(each engine)
2 -multi swicth to BOTH
3 -engine start
4 -multi switch to 1 or 2.

thanks for your time . and sorry by the bad drawing quality

The way yours is wired you system will charge both batts regardless of the OFF-1-2-Both switch. Each battery SHOULD be capable of cranking each engine without setting the switch to both. I recommend leaving the OFF-1-2-Both switch in the 1 position and running your house loads off it all the time (provided it is the larger of the two batteries if they are not the same!). If you ever end up with a dead #1 battery you can always move the switch to both to crank the starboard engine.

Switching this to both just uses both batteries to crank the engines which shouldn't be required unless theres a problem.
