Re: Winterization has begun
Went out yesterday on Raritan bay.
Wanted to stay in the back bay and fish with my best buddy of 40+ years he drove to nj from merrick li.
Left 6 am before dark was on the water and bye the railroad bridge about 7:15.
Stop get lunch, stop get gas, stop and get bait.
Got a used 17 pitch prop on the ole girl wanted to try it out.
Well nothing bye the bridge, nothing at 47, nothing at old orchard.
My friend went straight to the hook. In his boat.
Call me all day saying there catching fish.
This my only 3rd time out sinse the new/old motor got transplanted in the boat.
Running better than new.
More power, 20 hp makes a big, big difference.
So we pull the 4 rods each has something different on it.
Get to the hook in about 1/2 hour, and down go the bait 2 minutes my best friend hooks a 35 inch stripper.
Out of 4 rods it takes one of his hooks on his side of the boat.
My rods my stuff he takes home the only fish of the day.
Don't get back to the dock till 4.
I'm still in a great mood, i'm back in the saddle was hesitant about any kinda trip.
Back of my mind stay close to the dock.
But all day not even a burp outta the ole girl and it was a little crazy at the rip.
Was a city on the water yesterday.
That 85' 140 great little motor. No kidding.
Been pulling the plugs for 2 weeks now.
Pulled the plugs today, drained it.
