We sleep with the bedroom window open at night whether its winter or summer. We like the fresh air. Just wondering if we're the only ones with our window open with this freezing weather. So, do you sleep with your window open or closed?

I think 95% of the time for us, so I voted yes, open. Maybe our climate makes my vote a little unfair though  :p :p

When I was in AK, we kept the window open all the time. Our heat was out of control and on full hot all the time. I had to regulate it manually.

Here in CA, it is too damp to do that. :(

AK Chappy

For four decades, when I resided in So Cal, I slept with the window open except for February.

The weather is too cold & clammy to keep your windows open at night......It's so foggy here right now that I can't see the Space Needle.....JK

Not to advisable to leave a window open during heating season with the price of heating oil being so high!!!

We manage the house temperatures with an electronic set-back thermostat and stay comfortable.

We spend special time sealing the house for winter.... it get real cold here.

Bob

:) Only in the late Spring to early Fall, sleep with the slider partially open, have a 2"x2" board so that slider won't open more then 5 inches!!!! ;)

Re: Windows open or closed?

Spring, summer, and fall while the temps are above freezing we will sleep with the windows open a few inches.

My xwife always had to have the window open by her side of the bed all the time. She said she couldn't breath if the window wasn't open. I did close it a couple of times, but the old nag kept breathing and stayed alive. All the money I could have saved switching to Geico wouldn't have paid for my extra higher gas bill at that time. :(

Can you open the windows at Holiday Inn Express?

If I left the window open, all the A/C would get. Seriously, its 85 degrees down here and 100% humidity... the windows stay closed!

When I lived in Hawaii and in So. Florida I often slept with the windows open and the HVAC (if any) off.

Elsewhere, only when outdoor temps were between 60 and 80 all night.

I love sleeping with the windows open and do every chance I get, but it all depends on the humidity here.

Always shut there's enough leakage in the house that we get fresh air.It gets C O L D here in the winter and the furance works hard even with the windows shut. Open the windows and we could support a third world country with the heating costs :D :D

over 60degrees, closed, a/c cranked-down to 65.
Under 60, winders open, all fans running.
We love fresh air, and seldom get any down here, unless we go outside.

Always got a window open here-even when it's -10 outside. It keeps the smell of the housemate down...
