winch lock

The lock on my winch which prevents the boat from leaving the trailer has broken. It is a shorlandr trailer profile 2000. Can I replace this or do I need to replace the whole winch?

Looks to be close to 17 years old at this point. Good luck.....

Welcome aboard.

Is the lock itself broken, part #22 in the linked diagram or the spring, part #19, broken.

You do still have the safety chain, part #28, don't you?

most likely its the spring

and you should be using the bow safety chain and not relying on the locking pawl
