Will a 1989 150 lower unit work on a 89 85hp force engine?

I'm parting out my 150 and have someone interested in the lower unit. He has a 85hp 1989 force, will the LU off my 150 fit that?

I can find some info that says the 125 LU was compatible, but nothing about the 150.

As long as the shaft length is the same, the lower units are swappable. That is, both the 150 and the 85 must be either 20 inch length (long shaft) or 25 inch (extra long shaft)

The gear ratio in the 85/150 are different.The 89 has a short stub drive shaft on both the 85 and 150.The 150 made 3 different lowers.
It will fit just need to experiment with props.
Make sure that it matches.
