Wierd Tilt/Trim Issue

Lately, the trim on my motor has been acting strange. When I press the down button, I can hear the motor spinning but the engine won't go down. Sometimes it wll go down several seconds on it's own but will always trim down when I push down on the motor.

I checked through the forums on this but couldn't find anyone else who is having the same issue.

Also I am getting the grinding noise when the motor tilts up, but not going down. Dirt or salt deposits?

Is the lag due to a lack of hydraulic fluid?

First thing to do is raise it all the way up and check the fluid level. You also could have some bad probs in the tilt tube causing it to bind up.
