I was thinking about putting twin 1200cc jet drives into something like a 14 or 16' big jon, something wide enough to be stable and long enough to be useful. The trick is finding cheap donor skis and a boat hull to do it to.
A buddy has a Yamaha twin engine jet boat that puts out something like 300hp, it flies but he's constantly clogging up the intake screens in the river with grass and mud, and it's heavy. A nice aluminum hull would make for such a better hp to weight ratio.
I'd also want seats, and something to hold onto, even if it's just a rope with a handle.
I can picture that boat above dipping into the water and going right to the bottom, jet skis are built to pop right back up, a jon boat will sink, especially if he cut out all the flotation.
