Re: Why are people so annoying?
My wife and I went to the theater last weekend. We usually end up going once a year, just for the sake of going. Othewise, its DVD in the comfort of home action for us.

While we were there, there was this woman who kept talking during the movie. I finally told her she needed to not be so rude to the other people who paid to see this movie.

The woman was my wife.

My point? We watch so many DVDs at home now that she has forgotten theater etiquette. Basically, no one remembers that the whole point of watching the movie is to get away from life and just emerse yourself in the experience. People nowadays just have a hard time keeping their food holes shut for 2 hours. I remember the good old days when my brother and I would go to a movie, watch it, and talk about it afterwards. Now, people have to bring up stupid crap during the movie, then ask you what the person on the screen just said or what just happened.

This happens at home all the time, and because you can rewind, people done't care. Same with TIVO. Someone is yapping and missing important dialog, just rewind. There have been conversations in my house on the benefits of just watching the program, but it falls on deaf ears more often than not. Any more, I watch the movie a second time by myself, so I can actually watch it and not have to carry on a conversation during it...
