That's what we did with our Jeep Grand Cherokee. Dealer wanted like $300 something. Had the local body shop do it for like $80 and then a quick $20 trip to the dealer to "activate" the wiring.
I have heard that it is important to change the transmission fluid in the CVT due to planetary gear wear. 60K miles is what I hear. Also check the manual.
