My hitch ball is locked with a locking pin system & the tongue on the trailer always has a padlock on it weather it's in the driveway or on the ball. I don't think anyone would bother stealing my trailer...but ya never know. Also, if someone wants it bad enough, their going to steal it no matter what you do. That's what insurance is for. My wife works for an insurance co. & everything I own has a bus load of insurance on it. Just like if I was ever car jacked, here you go, I'm not screwing around with my life, I can always get another truck. Just my .02
