Trying to locate some parts for the gimbal ring area. All the cooling parts.

2002 VP 8.1gi with a dp-sm drive

I know the transom shield is an sx-m, but there is an early and late version.

How do I know if early or late?

if it helps, here are serial numbers.

Engine serial 4012064177
Outdrive serial 4151003669
Transom assembly serial 4202048209

if the water intake hose 1" diameter is early
1.25" diameter is late
Make sure your looking at TSK SX-MPH parts breakdowns

I was hoping to order parts before I got home and took the drive off to check the diameter.

Thanks for responding. Appreciate it.

To close it out, it's an early version. I got home and pulled my parts catalog and it only had the early version in it. So, the parts are on order. I think the changeover may have been 05/06.

I was very surprised with this one. Usually when I run a serial number through Volvo Penta the right number comes up or a good way to see a s/n break I can use. But yours made me look at all the possible breakdowns to see what the difference was.

Yeah, the Volvo penta shop vin decoder was useless for me as well I was hoping someone might have access to a better one. Thanks for trying.
