Hello all, From the great state of Wyoming!

My family and currently enjoy a Bayliner Capri 2450 Sunbridge. While we like the boat we are quickly seeing that it doesnt have the performance I/we desire.

Things I am looking for in a boat:
Serious HP 400+ minimum
I like a cuddy cabin and must have a head.
good cornering for playing on the tubes, Wakeboards, Kneeboards, ect.
handle waters to ten feet (very rare but been caught more than once.
A good amount of room and seeting on the outside, I dont like feeling cramped in.
Wakeboard tower or pylon
good storage for toys
fridge or icebox

So going off of this, here are a few questions:

Inboard/outboard or outboards or inboard or jet?
Single motor or go with dual motors? Handleing is my main concern here, I mean, will they corner well?

So far I have looked at some Baja's, Fountain's, and Formula's. I know there are others out there and thats what I am trying to find out.

Thought I should add, I will be buying used as new ones are insanely overpriced when compared to used deals right now that are out there.

I am thinking in the 25-32' foot range.

Also how about Cobalt's?

Your requirements are pretty tough, and expensive. Good you are thinking formula and baja (the lesser far lower in quality and price).

First off, I dont think anyone plays with tubes and water toys on an offshore performance boat. The spray and exhaust noise kill that fun. But you said 10ft waves I think. If you let that go, you could open the field to some cool day boats like the Rinker captiva 28 which can be had with a big block, really great party boat. Most manufacturers make these big cuddies with lots of seating and enough size to warrant a big block.

Not going to be cheap, and if you are keeping the budget low the best old boat I can think of might be a Four Wins 245 cuddy or maybe some of the old bigger Checkmates.

Wow, that's quite a list there.

Well, I would say an offshore boat isn't going to be much fun for tubing/skiing as the wake/noise isn't fun for those being towed. Offshore boats also don't usually have room for more than 5-6 people outside, so that is a limitation. If you want a fridge/head and wakeboard tower I don't know what to tell you except most modern boats over 24ft have the option. Some baja-type boats have the head/icebox, but you won't find many with wakeboard towers. I think your horsepower requirement would be solved by twin engines, not one big engine. Twin 350's would provide plenty of power for most boats under 30ft. Maybe find a 26-28 ft day cruiser or cuddy.

Cobalt makes top of the line boats, but I can't remember them making anything that has your specs except if you added a wakeboard tower to a Cobalt 303. That isn't going to be a cheap boat to purchase anyway, even used.

I like the 242WSS from Cobalt, it has everything you asked for. However, it isn't a Cuddy, and I wouldn't want to take on 10' swells with it.

I got my 28' Grady White to go offshore fishing with my kids but it also does everything on your list, without the wakeboard tower. go figure :cool:
