Where'd the power go???

I have a 1989 wellcraft with a 125hp Force engine.. the boat is in amazing shape and minus alittle bit of smoke the engine ran great.... until last summer. at the beginning of the season it was running perfect but a couple of weeks in i started to notice a significant lose in power. i went from cruising at 35mph to not being able to hit 15mph.. spark plugs are brand new and still running same mixture of gas and oil as i have since it was brand new... any suggestions?

Sounds like you lost one or more cylinders. Remove the spark plug and look at the tips that go inside the cylinders. If one or more are clean that is where your problem lies. Coiuld be no spark, head gasket leak or cylinder problems. Look at the plugs and post your findings on this thread.

Check the fuel system from tank to carbs looking for clogs or leaks. Remove the fuel pump and check the rubber diaphragm. If it has pinholes or a tear or if it is hard and cracked, it needs to be replaced.
